Registration guide

How to register for UKChO

UKChO registration is normally handled by a school or institution, not by an individual student. The correct process depends on where the school is located and which organisation administers the local route.

Current status

The 2026 competition has finished

Registration closed

Round One took place on 28 January 2026 for the RSC route and on 29 January 2026 for the published China regional schedule. Results and official resources are now available.

Do not submit personal details or payment against an unconfirmed 2027 date. Wait for the organiser or regional administrator to publish the next cycle.

RSC registration windows and regional deadlines do not always match. A timezone difference can also produce adjacent calendar dates for the same cycle. Record the date, time, location and deadline exactly as shown for your route.

Internal programme notes contain provisional 2027 planning dates, but these are not presented here as official facts. This page will be updated when a current organiser notice is available.

Before an institution registers

A practical registration checklist

01

Confirm eligibility

Record the student’s age, school status, country and entry route. Do not rely on a previous year’s rule.

02

Confirm administration

Identify the supervising school or institution, exam format, location, deadline and permitted equipment.

03

Keep evidence

Save the confirmation, payment record, candidate details and current instructions supplied by the administrator.

Student details
Use the spelling that should appear on the certificate. Check date of birth, school name and candidate contact information before submission.
Deadline
Regional deadlines can be earlier than the test date. Late entries should not be assumed possible once the administrator begins secure-paper processing.
Refund terms
Read the terms before paying. The ASEEDER 2026 FAQ described a partial deduction before the deadline and no refund after it; a future cycle may use different terms.
Exam day
Confirm arrival time, identification requirements, permitted calculator, printed dictionary policy and whether an answer booklet is provided.

Clarifying authority

What an information or preparation provider can and cannot do

CAN HELP

Interpret published routes

Explain organiser pages, help a school assemble candidate information and identify which questions need official confirmation.

CAN SUPPORT

Prepare academically

Provide past-paper study, chemistry instruction and exam-readiness planning independently of competition administration.

CANNOT DECIDE

Override eligibility

Only the organiser or authorised regional administrator can confirm entry, award treatment and later-stage eligibility.

For schools and institutions

A coordinator’s registration record

A clear institutional record protects both the student and the school when dates, candidate details or regional instructions change.

Authority
Record the organiser or regional administrator, the account used to enter candidates and the person responsible for official communication.
Candidate list
Keep the submitted spelling of names, age or school-status evidence where required, and a timestamped copy of the final entry.
Secure materials
Document who receives the paper, how it is stored, when it may be opened and how completed work is returned or retained.
Results
Know how scores and certificates will reach students and who will respond if a candidate believes information is missing or incorrect.
